Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended in 1998, requires each Federal department or agency to provide
both employees and members of the public with disabilities access to and use of electronic information and data.This
site is designed to provide webmasters and developers with information concerning Section 508 and accessibility,
as well as suggestions and resources which will be helpful in designing accessible and Section 508-compliant Web pages.
GSFC Section 508 Web PolicyGPR 2800.1, GSFC Section 508 Web Compliance, was signed by the Center Director on October 6, 2005. The directive addresses responsibility and processes
necessary to ensure GSFC Web sites and Web applications are accessible to people with disabilities.

Although there is no mandatory NASA Section 508 training, several recommended training resources may be found at http://section508.nasa.gov/internal/nasaTraining.htm. Resources include an Accessibility Awareness Training Module (of which one topic concerns Section 508), as well as training on creating accessible Acrobat documents. Note: the above link is available to NASA employees only.
